Overview

Designers are people with a desire to create. They combine practical knowledge with the artistic ability to turn abstract ideas into formal designs for the merchandise we buy, the clothes we wear, web sites we use, the publications we read, and the living and office space we inhabit.

This programme introduces the world of fashion design and provides both a theoretical and practical guide to that world and offers participants an opportunity to gain an informed understanding of the principles of good design in fashion.

What We Offer

This course aims to explain the central concepts in Fashion Design in a practical manner and the theoretical approaches covered allow students a good overview of conception through to the completion of any concept. Students’ expression of design is explored through research into fabrics and trims whilst at all times referring to the business of fashion in terms of cost and make up. The course allows the student to use all the theory and skills gained to develop their final presentation which is a season driven moodboard developed to a brief presented in a manner acceptable to trade buyers.

Requirements
