Independent Colleges' students have won a remarkable ten Law Society Entrance Examination first-place prizes, including the Overend Prize for best overall student performance in 2008 and 2009.

Courses are delivered twice yearly, commencing in June and November. The next 15-week course begins on November 1st, 2010 in Independent College Dublin and will be relayed to our regional facilities in Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford.

Students will have the opportunity to study with premier lecturers, avail of their tailored study materials and up-to-the-minute teaching techniques. The course is examination focused and carefully designed to equip students with the skills for success. Students are given the opportunity to practice past examination questions and will receive personalised feedback from course lecturers. There is also a facility to catch up on missed lectures online.

Online Lectures

Live lectures are delivered each week from our premises on Dawson Street. These lectures are also recorded and made available on Moodle. Independent College FE1 manuals contain the most up to date and course specific information available to students. Each manual is laid out in a student friendly style, incorporating an elaborate case index, and a special FE1 exam tips section. Our FE1 manuals have been prepared by lecturers who have a unique insight into how best to prepare students for these examinations. Only Independent College manuals contain ALL cases referred to in the Law Society examiners' reports.

Regional Venues

Live lectures delivered in Dublin will be recorded and delivered remotely to our facilities in Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford. Email and telephone support from the Dublin office will be provided to those students with any queries that may arise.

Law Library

Our law library is a quiet haven for studying law in the heart of Dublin 2. Students have access to multiple copies of texts, law reports and periodicals, as well as on-campus and remote access to LEXIS-NEXIS, WESTLAW UK, HEINONLINE and FIRSTLAW databases. The College has separate lending and reference libraries. The student study room boasts 30 Apple Mac computers, which are customised for downloading and viewing Independent Colleges' law pod casts, and on-line streaming video tutorials.
