This illuminating and dynamic course 6 week diploma is designed for parents who wish to understand the various processes, conscious and unconscious, that underpin their relationships with their children and vice versa. As a method of psychological help, psychoanalytic psychotherapy can be of enormous value to parents and is based on the theory that early relationships and childhood experiences of love, loss, sexuality and death establish patterns in the mind which have enduring effects and are the source of later conflicts that can block emotional and cognitive development.

Co-taught by two widely experienced and practicing clinicians in the field of child and adolescent psychotherapy, these unique seminars are interactive and discursive and apply modern psychoanalytic theory with case examples to the contemporary parenting experience, with a view to giving parents tools to better understand the emotional and psychological functioning of their children.
