First year BA(Hons) in Journalism student and Irish International Aidan Clarke produced a series of excellent performances to walk away from the Irish Student Fencing Championships with two medals and the All Weapons Trophy.
Held in NUI Maynooth in March, the competition showcased a very high standard and saw Aidan finish 2nd in Men’s Foil, 3rd in Men’s Epee and in the last 8 in Men’s Sabre.These results meant that he also won the prestigious All Weapons Trophy for the third year in a row, an award which is presented to the fencer with the best results across all three weapons.
We wish Aidan the best of luck with his hopes of being selected the Irish Senior Team for a second time.
